The goal of the Huguenot Steamer No. 1 Museum in Oxford, Massachusetts is to preserve, protect, and share the town’s firefighting history. The museum aims to maintain its historic apparatus, honor the legacy of local firefighters, and educate the public, especially younger generations, about the evolution of fire service and its role in the community. It also works to promote goodwill, community service, and the spirit of “passing the torch” so future generations carry these values forward.
